High-rise syndrome describes the injuries cats suffer when they fall from windows, balconies or verandas of multi-storey buildings. Watch for warning signs after any suspected fall: limping, reluctance to jump, open-mouth breathing, pale gums, bleeding from the mouth or nose, or hiding combined with loss of appetite.
